Intensive Support Program/ Intensive Support Homes
The Intensive Support Program offers support to MCFD referred caregivers and youth residing in these homes with goals of:
- increasing capacity of caregivers to care for high needs of children/youth in need of specialized placement
- increase stable placements and reduce destructive placement behaviors
- increase ability of caregivers to manage the stress of fostering challenging youth
- increase skills of youth to achieve a measurable level of postive growth while in these foster homes
- provide short term interventions to experienced foster parents in response to extreme youth behavior
The Intensive Support Program also manages Intensive Support Homes. This progrm recruits, screens, trains and maintains caregivers available to provide care for children/youth in the care of MCFD with goals of:
- maintaining three caring, competent caregiver homes available for CIC placement
- provision of training to increase competence of caregiver homes
- monitoring of efficacy and stress management skills
Referrals for the Intensive Support Program must come from MCFD.
