ADD/ADHD Services

Program description: The ADD/ADHD program offers two different services to adults who work closely with, or parent a child with ADD (Attention Deficit Disorder) or ADHD (Attention Deficit with Hyperactivity Disorder):

1) Group programs: 2 or 3 groups offered per year. These focus on: the diagnosis, “typical” versus ADD/HD child and teen development, strengths and challenges, managing behaviours, supportive learning environments, effective parenting strategies

2) Individual services: a counselor meets weekly or bi-weekly with the parent, facilitating an understanding of the diagnosis and developing effective parenting strategies. This service is offered throughout the year.

Parents are their child's or teen's best advocate, so it is important they understand them and their needs.
